Below are maps to several softball fields. Maps can be used a number of ways. Public maps can be used to provide directions to visitors or to show all locations where one has worked. For example, a home contractor or pool builder may wish to provide references and locations of all work performed. For well-established firms that can be quite impressive.
In addition, on private, password-protected pages, geographically-dispersed firms and organizations can provide directions to all locations where traveling employees may need to be.
The following maps provide locations to several softball fields in Western PA.
Bradford Woods Elementary School
The Brad-Mar-Pine home field is located between Wexford Run Road and Perry Highway (SR Road 19) north of SR910 and south of Bradford Road.
Directions: from I79, take the Wexford exit and head east on SR910 (Wexford-Bayne Road) for approximately one mile. Turn left (north) onto Wexford Run Road and travel approximately 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Glenmore Road and immediately turn right onto Forest Road. The field will be on the right.
From SR19 (Perry Highway): if traveling south, turn right onto Bradford Road (at the Atria’s Restaurant). If traveling north, turn left onto Bradford Road. Stay on Bradford for approximately one mile and turn left onto Forest Road. The field will be on the right near the end of the road.
Vincentian Athletic Complex
The McCandless AA home field is located northeast of the McKnight Road & Peebles Road intersection–in the valley behind Vincentian High School.
Directions: if traveling south on McKnight Road (truck 19): turn left at Peebles Road, and stay in left lane as you go to the top of the hill. (It’s a very short hill.) Make a left at the first traffic light into the Vincentian Complex. Take the first right (at the athletic fields sign) and go down the hill.
If traveling north on McKnight Road, from, say, the Ross Park Mall, slightly past the McIntyre Square exit, take the ramp to turn right at Peebles Road, and immediately merge into the left lane (as you go to the top of the hill). (It’s a very short hill.) Make a left turn at the first traffic light into the Vincentian Complex. Take the first right (at the athletic fields sign) and go down the hill.
Zelienople Community Park
Zelienople’s home field is in the Zelienople Community Park, which is southeast of the Perry Highway (SR19) & Evans City (SR63), on East Beaver Street in Zelienople.
Directions: from the south on SR19 (Perry Highway), which is the quickest way from Wexford, take Perry Highway north for approximately twelve miles. After you descend the hill and enter the town of Zelienople, turn right onto East Beaver Street and travel a few short blocks. The field is on the right at South Division Avenue.
For those coming from farther south, Bing recommends leaving I79 at exit 76 (Cranberry) and taking SR19 (Perry Highway) north to Zelienople rather than staying on the interstate to Zelienople.
Gillott Field, Bellevue
Bellevue-Avalon Girls’ AA home field is in Bellevue between Ohio River Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue.
Directions: there are several ways to go. To avoid I79 & I279, from Wexford go south on SR19 (Perry Highway) to West View and turn right onto Highland Avenue. (There is a sign, “To I279″). At the “T,” turn left onto Union Avenue Extension. See below for the rest.
Alternatively, take I79 south from Wexford and take I279 to the Bellevue West View exit. At the end of the exit ramp, turn south onto Union Avenue.
Continue on Union Avenue and North Home Street. (The road changes names.) Turn left onto California Avenue, which then turns into Lincoln Avenue. Go about 0.9 miles and turn right onto Kendall Avenue and left onto Davis Avenue. The field is at 100 Davis Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15202.
If you prefer fewer turns (but a higher probability of driving through construction), take I79 south to exit 66, Ohio River Blvd (SR65). At the end of the exit turn left, and take Glenfield Road, which changes names to Kilbuck Street, to Ohio River Boulevard. Take the ramp left towards Emsworth and Bellevue. Travel approximately five miles and turn left onto Kendall Avenue and right onto Davis.)
